Which TeamRaiser reports to use?

We just finished up with a successful TeamRaiser event and I am now in the process of running reports.

Within Reports Classic, I've run the TeamRaiser Summary Report and then saw the TeamRaiser Comparison Report. After running these, there are discrepancies between the totals. The Donor Count, the Online and Offline Totals, and the General Donation Count--among several others--are off. The only thing that matches up is the Active Registrants total. Both of these reports were run within 2 minutes of each other.

So...

Which is correct and/or what reports should I be looking at to accurate information?

If I should be using Report Writer, I'd appreciate knowing what type of report and/or settings.

(If someone from Convio reads this, discrepancies like these always seem to crop up, regardless of what report or application I am using.)

    I'm sorry to hear that you're seeing some discrepancies! Typically the best way to resolve questions about discrepancies is to open a Support case. Since Support is the first line of defense in identifying issues, they are the connection to Engineering and are able to advise if there might be a bug that has been filed to address the issue. If they find a bug, I can track that for you or escalate it, if it's an urgent issue that needs immediate attention. I appreciate staying in the loop on issues you want to see addressed in the product!

    Since we work together and I have access to your information, I took a look at the reports to see if I could confirm what you were seeing. I ran the TeamRaiser Summary report for the 26th Annual Hunger Walk and then compared those summary totals (they are broken out by participation type but are totaled as well in the report) to the totals that are reported for that event in the TeamRaiser Comparison Report. The results on that event lined up exactly so I'm guessing you are running your reports in another way. Can you please specify the TeamRaiser events you are running those reports on? If you are applying any filters, that would be helpful for me to know too.

    If you ever see discrepancies, definitely always let me know! I would expect consistency across reports and, if that is not your experience, want to make sure that Engineering and Product Management is notified.
