Has Anyone Moved a Personal Fundraising Site From Tributes to TeamRaiser?

Options

Hi,

We have a  perfsonal fundraising platform called PETA Change Makers (www.peta.org/changemakers) where we encourage people to create fundraising pages in honor or an event, holiday, birthday (peta.org/birthday), or just to support a cause they care about. However, we've found that we have a hard time following up with the people who have created fundraising pages on our behalf, because we are not able to schedule delayed auto-messages that are scheduled to go out a certain number of days or weeks after the page is created. Because of this, we have many people starting pages, but never following through with fundraising.

We feel that if we were able to develop more message streams using the tools in TeamRaiser, this platform could be much more successful. For this reason, I'm interested in moving the personal fundraising platform from Convio Tributes to Convio TeamRaiser. I'd love to hear from anyone who may have done this before, or has any knowledge, ideas, or experience in this area.

Thanks!

Michelle

  • There was a seminar the the Summit about using TeamRaiser for no-event programs. You might look for the presentation materials, which I believe have been posted.

Teamraiser is much more robust, so I think you will be happy with the change. The biggest issues I see are hiding certain TR features such as the top-team scrollers and such, and deciding when and how to retire the teamraiser. (Do you close the TR for new registrations each fiscal year and start a new replacement, or is it just one that stays running forever? How do you deal with the participants who's fundraisers have ended mid-year, or do they stay active and keep getting spammed?)

Thanks for the information! I was sad to miss the Summit this year. I'll try to find the presentation. I'm pretty sure we'd like to move our platform over to TeamRaiser (which we currently use for our peta.org/run event), but would still love to hear from someone who has moved their fundraising site from Tributes to Team Raiser who can speak to the logistics and difficulty (or hopefully ease) of making that switch.

    Thanks!

    Hi Michelle!

I think Brian might be talking about my co-worker Jonathan Drennan's presentation. It was a really great representation of what you can do with TeamRaiser.

You can find the slides here:

Let me know if we can help answer any questions!
