Can I put my TeamRaiser registration on third party website?

Options

I'm looking to create a TeamRaiser page to collect donations for a walk. For every mile they walk, they raise money.  The actual walk will be hosted on a third party website, but the registration will come from me.  Can I do this through my open API?  How do I go about this?  We want to be able to share the registration information between both parties. Thanks.

  • Thanks, Kent.  Didn't know that this board was for navigating community forum.

  • There is an API for TeamRaiser so I think you probably can do what you are after.

Steve Mook showed a simple TeamRaiser registration form at the summit this year that could live on another site. (No support for secondary registrations and a few other niceties yet, but it worked.)

But it sounds more like a datasync might be more of what you want here. You don't want to simply host the form on another site, you want to share the registration info, right? You can create your own datasync via the API as well.

The real question is how much access you have to this third party site. Is it your server, or something like Events.org?

Can you elaborate on what the third party site is and does, and the details of what you want to do? What is the desired sequence of events?

/Oooo, my first post on the new forum!

    Hey Brian,

Thanks for the feedback.  We are working with a major university (can't say just yet) who has a grant funded program that pushes people to walk the distance of our state.  We are wanting to work with them to build their database because off our size and span and use the program as a fundraiser for the organization.

They already have the website built out with domain name and even database of teams. We want to take over the registration portion because in order for them to raise money we didn't want them registering twice. Once through the walk website and then again with us on our Teamraiser.  So, basically I thought the best option would be to build a Teamraiser registration form that would go on their website (through API), but datasync the information so that they get the registration information they need for grant purposes and we get the registration info we need to build our Teamraiser and collect donations.

It's going to require great coordination between us to make this work, but wanted to see how I would go about this through Luminate.  What would be steps I need to take to build a Teamraiser page and specifically what information would they need from me to incorporate into their site.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Gotcha.

A datasync is usually a periodic thing, something you might do once a night or something. You will want registrants to get immediate access to your TR.

If you are building the registration form on the other site, then you should also be able to pass the registration info to Convio once your own process succeeds.

Here's the Steve example I mentioned. Hopefully it will get you on the right track.

    And the TR API Docs.
