Creating Alummi Weekend Events

I need to create event for Alumni Weekend and also for all the individual events people attended. Also need to add all the people that registered for the overall Alumni weekend and then also add them to individual events. wondering if anyone had a process in place. I am not sure if you create and event for the main event and each subevent or if there is a better way.

@Beth UnruhArnold You are on the right path. You first will need to create a Event Groups Table called say Alum Weekend 2023 in Configuration for Tables. Then in the Event Module create the Main Event (Alum Weekend), then create each individual event and in the GROUP section of the event module, use the Event Group name you created to link all the individual groups to the main one.

@Joe Moretti have you found a way to use the forms to take registrations in a way that isn't overly complicated/redudant for the participants?

@Elizabeth Johnson In the past (about 2 years ago) we used Online Express or NetCommunity and it worked well. You just hook the Events you created in the module and put them into the Online Express and then put that on the website. Seemed to be work easily and not complicated at all,

@Joe Moretti I have created forms before with ease but have not figured out the best way to handle registrations for multi-weekend events. Would love to see a sample of one of yours sometime - I could fill it out and not hit submit to get the user experience. If that seems okay to you, probably a dm would be best. Not a rush either - next time we set one of these up is April.

@Elizabeth Johnson I am no longer with the organization that I did the Alumni Reunion Weekend for, so I have nothing to share with you. If for some reason I saved that info somewhere, I will let you know, but more than likely I no longer have that.

We've done Alumni Weekend for years this way - Grouped Event, all the individual ones in the group, do registration on NetCommunity. Each reunion year gets an individualized NC page using the Classic Registration with general events and their particular events listed for registration, plus a general NC page for alums that wish to attend certain things in their off years, etc.
