Illinois Residency Requirement: This position requires Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date.

The SIUE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to support the mission, vision and values of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.On behalf of the University, the SIUE Foundation provides coordination and implementation of fundraising efforts across campus. The Foundation receives and manages all gifts given to SIUE and upholds the highest standards of fiscal responsibility and investment management. These efforts are conducted in relation to the donors’ expressed wishes, as well as the instructional, scholarship and public service pursuits of the University.

The Manager of Gift Records is responsible for the successful operations of the Gift Records area of the SIUE Foundation and SIUE Alumni Association and is an integral part of the advancement team. This position will also supervise the Accounting Officer - Account Tech II position and works closely with all members of the data, fundraising and financial affairs team. Responsibilities include:

- processing all gifts and other payments received by the SIUE Foundation and SIUE Alumni Association

- utilizing IRS contribution and tax regulation knowledge to determine and document between donor gifts and benefits received by the donor for donor gift receipting and reporting (both internal and external)

-managing process of establishing all fundraising events and ensuring donor gift vs donor benefit for all fundraising event participants is properly supported and in compliance with IRS regulations

-maintaining an accurate donor and alumni database

-working carefully with the SIUE Foundation CEO, CFO, Directors of Development, and donors to establish new SIUE Foundation funds and donor gift agreements/fund stipulations

-ensuring compliance with IRS, State of Illinois, FASB accounting, GASB accounting, gift accounting records, SIUE Foundation, and SIUE laws, regulations, and policies.

-creating, managing, utilizing queries of donor database for CFO, auditors, and others and providing reports as necessary

-reconciling Raiser's Edge CRM system with Financial Edge financial re porting software for all funds and revenue accounts

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

1. (A) Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accountancy or a related field AND two (2) years of professional level accounting experience.

OR

(B) Possession of a current registration as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, or a valid License to practice Public Accounting.

OR

(C) Master’s degree in Accountancy or a related field.

-Experience in accounting environment or detailed recordkeeping in a non-profit environment similar to the SIUE Foundation with intricacies and various regulations requiring strict compliance

-Experience in detailed reconciliation and problem-solving required

-Must possess outstanding ability in written and verbal communication skills, able to respond to questions from multiple parties external and internal (SIUE), present information properly and effectively.

-Analytical and problem-solving skills and an acute attention to detail. Must possess strong skills in managing multiple competing priorities with expedited turn-around time. --Excellent supervisory skills including frequent training due to student turnover.

-Customer service orientation.

Preferred Qualifications:

--Previous experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge strongly preferred. .
