Database Manager

St. Paul’s Foundation welcomes applications for a Database Manager to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key part of the Foundation’s fundraising success by ensuring the optimal use of the Foundation’s most valuable asset, the donor database.

Reporting to the Director, Information Systems & Data Management, the Database Manager serves as the lead of data structure strategy, managing all aspects of the Foundation’s fundraising database and all other related databases.

Responsibilities

Administer database security access, end-user licenses, and security profiles.

Provide training on database functionality to staff.

Contribute to developing and executing data quality and integrity strategies.

Perform data analysis, data loads and extractions, and other functions related to working with and managing information in the fundraising database and related systems.

Monitor and analyze database processes/functions and make recommendations for improvements.

Develop and maintain all database systems’ policies and procedures. Identify areas where policies and procedures should exist and/or be revised to improve data entry efficiency and data integrity.

Import data from external sources into the fundraising database ensuring a single source of truth for data and information.

Act as backup for the Donations Manager.

Qualifications

Five years of current and related experience in Raiser’s Edge administration, database coding structure, development of system policies and procedures, database training, and Raisers Edge Query, Export and Reporting.

Knowledge of and experience in the non-profit industry.

Intermediate to advance proficiency in Excel.

Experience with business intelligence and visualization platforms such Power BI or Tableau.

Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Ability to work with minimal guidance and the ability to be resourceful, use sound judgement and take initiative.

Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Demonstrated sound judgment and tact, with ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
