The Family Center’s is looking for a full-time Development Associate, who will play a critical role in identifying, growing and maintaining revenue streams through collaborative processes that cultivate agency leadership boards, and institutional and individual donors. This position will report to the Development & Communications Director, and will support critical functions that enable TFC to grow annual revenue, both restricted and unrestricted.

The Development Associate joins a small, dedicated team that works seamlessly with agency program staff and our diverse constituent groups to realize TFC’s mission of keeping vulnerable New Yorkers and their families stronger, longer. Responsibilities

  • Enter, maintain, create and generate reports and analytic metrics on donor information and fundraising data in the agency’s CRM, Raiser’s Edge NXT
  • Draft grant proposals and applications to prospective and current funders, as well as reports to current funders
  • Support all Board of Directors’ fundraising efforts, including maintaining financial reports for all Board members
  • Serve as primary liaison with the agency’s Leadership Council (LC), and leverage members’ companies and contacts for financial partnerships
  • Work with all agency constituent groups to create and execute the annual fundraising gala
    • Work to finalize material design
    • Partner with vendors to create the overall event visual
    • Serve as primary liaison to the venue, e.g. contract, payments, tastings, etc.
    • Work at the event from set-up to break-down
  • Occasionally attend and work at other events throughout the year
  • Collaborate with agency leadership and staff to identify agency funding needs, as well as emerging needs of client populations served by the agency
  • Collaborate with external agency constituents (Board, LC, institutional and individual donors et al.) to identify and capitalize on funding opportunities
  • Communicate with the agency’s donor base in conjunction with the Development & Communications Director and the Communications Associate
  • Work with the Development & Communications Director and Communications Associate to establish the agency’s overall public communications strategies in line with agency strategic plan
  • Stay up to date on new and emerging best practices in fundraising

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of organizational stakeholders from diverse backgrounds (including community members, Board members, donors, funders, press, volunteers, clients, etc.) with professionalism, discretion, and empathy
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Grant writing and/or event planning and execution
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule that requires flexibility on weeknights and weekends
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Skilled at multitasking
  • Commitment to racial and social justice
  • Interest in community empowerment

Desired Qualifications (not absolutely required)

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in progress
  • Conversational Spanish
  • An eye for design

Location: this position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, and will require occasional in-person work at our Brooklyn NY office, which is located at 493 Nostrand Avenue.

Starting Salary Range: $50K-56K per year
