Virtuous vs. Raiser's Edge

I am interested in learning more about the experiences of other people who have used Virtuous, a cloud-based CRM and marketing platform for nonprofits. I have heard some positive feedback about its features, such as donor segmentation, automation, and analytics, but I would also like to know about the potential drawbacks or challenges of using this tool. What are the pros and cons of Virtuous ? How does it compare to the Raiser's Edge in terms of cost, functionality, and user-friendliness? If you have any insights or opinions to share, I would appreciate hearing from you.

    @Sheila Wortham if you are on Facebook I would recommend searching the RE User Facebook group. I know there has been some discussion there are Virtuous. There is also a Virtuous user group on Facebook that I would recommend reviewing too.

    I have limited experience with Virtuous but my organization has presented it to clients as an option in the past. For one client it was more expensive than Raiser's Edge and they really struggled to wrap their heads around some of the core functionality and design. It is VERY heavy on marketing and it was a really big leap for them to imagine how it would suit their needs. It has more fields for gift coding than RE does, and the client found that very confusing as well.

    I was not involved in the software selection process for the most recent client but my colleagues were not impressed with the way the sales team handled the process. We do A LOT of software reviews so have a wide breadth of vendors to compare. It is fascinating to see how the industry vendors treat clients and talk about other products!
