Who We Are

New Visions for Public Schools is the leading non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of public education in New York City. Today, we support 1,600 public schools and thousands of teachers, serving almost 1,000,000 students, in their most critical work: deciding what and how to teach, helping keep students on track to graduation, and preparing students for success beyond high school. New Visions directly manages a network of 9 charter high schools across the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.

What You’ll Do

You’ll manage a portfolio of institutional donors in the areas of teacher and school leader certification, data and technology, and college and career readiness. You’ll cultivate and maintain relationships with foundation and government funders. You’ll work closely with program, finance and data staff to design viable initiatives that meet the needs of our constituents and that are competitive in the donor universe.

Who You Are

You’re a seasoned fundraiser looking to transfer your skills to the education sector. You’ve demonstrated success developing proposals for institutional donors that reflect an organization’s needs and priorities. You drive deadlines in high-energy, fast-paced environments. You’re passionate, entrepreneurial and motivated by data and results. You know how to build relationships with people of all backgrounds and connect them to a common goal. You believe in our mission to provide best-in-class education to all students and won’t let anything stand in your way of making that a reality. Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of fundraising/ development required
  • Grant writing experience
  • Ability to “translate” and “market” complex ideas for wider audiences
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving acumen
  • Ability to synthesize information, interpret data and incorporate feedback as part of the writing process
  • Strong project management skills, including setting priorities, meeting deadlines, communicating potential needs or problems, and responding when priorities unexpectedly shift
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred

Pay Range

$74,481 minimum to $111,722 maximum

While the majority of new hires’ starting salaries shall be expected to be placed in the first half of the range(s) to allow space to grow in the job, for those who already have significant relevant experience at that level of the job, placement at the higher end of the range(s) is possible.
