Position Summary:

Childhelp in Phoenix, Arizona is looking for a Manager Data & Donor Services. Administers and oversees daily operation of the company’s constituent database as it relates to: tracking individual, foundation, and corporate donors, volunteers, and information pertaining to prospects. Ensures accuracy and integrity of the database through the monitoring of data input and output, donor receipting and acknowledgements, along with end-user training, and support.

Supervisory

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Childhelp’s cultural values and performance principles, company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:

  • Actively participating in the interviewing and hiring processes and ensuring successful functional on-boarding of new employees
  • Planning, assigning and directing work for direct reports
  • Setting reasonable stretch performance goals, providing constructive, balanced, regular performance feedback, and conducting annual performance appraisals
  • Recognizing and rewarding performance excellence
  • Communicating and enforcing company policies and programs
  • Applying corrective action, addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely fashion, involving and collaborating with leadership and Human Resources as appropriate.

Functional/Operational

  • Oversees the quality, integrity, and accuracy of all donor information and gifts entered in the Raiser’s Edge database
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date data-entry for all constituent records to ensure that all processing, tracking, reporting, and acknowledgement of gifts and engagement activities are executed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assists with processes associated with: imports, gift distribution, entry and acknowledgement pertaining to regional sites
  • Generates customized queries, reports, and lists for both national and site development activities, including: various lists, exports, revenue, renewal and pledge reports, performance analysis reports, etc.
  • Provides technical support to staff and end-users, which includes the development of written training materials and data policies, as well as conducting training sessions as scheduled
  • Maintains data entry standards and procedures and conducts training sessions to ensure that all staff members follow proper documentation and accounting principle standards
  • Ensures that all coding and table entries are consistent and adhere to established protocols
  • Conducts audits periodically to ensure accurate coding, data integration, and maintenance of constituent record
  • Is responsible for implementing global changes, creating and mapping required fields, identifying and implementing database modifications to ensure accurate recording and reporting
  • Reviews current systems and leads efforts to improve overall workflow and support pertaining to fundraising efforts
  • Creates and maintains a structure within the database to effectively identify specific data segments for analysis as it pertains to various targeted fundraising and marketing efforts
  • Respond to staff and constituent questions regarding data issues with the RE database and associated programs, provide technical expertise, assess requests, effectively communicate database opportunities and limitations
  • Develop and maintain custom constituent reports based on organizational needs

Requirements

Education & Experience, Knowledge/Understanding

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of three years’ progressive work experience in database management
  • Previous experience managing donor and constituent databases, database administration, prospect and constituent management, data imports and exports, and development of various reports
  • Knowledge of applicable tax laws, the fundraising process, and concept of donor relations

Physical Demands
