Data not refreshing for report pulls?

Options

Hi y'all! I've been working through an issue we've been having where the numbers we pull through the Report feature on RE is not matching what we are putting together manually. After a lot of digging, it seems like the discrepancy comes from the newest gifts not being included in the report numbers. I was just wondering if RE takes some time to sync new gift records with the reports? It seems like this shouldn't be the case but we are pretty consistently a small amount off between the two numbers. We are a smaller org so it's not overwhelming to double check line by line, but obviously would like to be able to pull a report and not question it. For reference, we largely use comparison and summary reports, and do so about once every two weeks or so.

@Kenzie Brown I have not seen a lag between gift entry and reports in database view. There can be a slight lag to web view.

Could it be something in your criteria/filters? Say are your reports pulling by GL post date and the recent gifts are not yet posted to GL?

Large or small org, we should not have to be checking data line by line. It's very frustrating when it seems we need to do that and takes time from other tasks.

I assume you are asking exclusively about database view work - gifts entered via database view and standard reports run in database view?

If so, I would definitely start by reviewing your report criteria. The report may be using a query to filter results, or have date ranges that need to be updated each time you run the report. There also may be filters on the other tabs that are excluding gifts. I have found the latter to be the case on occasion where clients have a Campaign or Appeal filter on the Filters tab.

There definitely is not a lag in database view entry. If you aren't using database view for both gift entry and the report, we would need to dig a little further. And the specific report you are using may be helpful to know too!

@Kenzie Brown Another thought. Are your reports based on a query? Is the query dynamic? Or static? Does the query have date criteria for the gifts?
