Does any report show new donors and new participants?

Options

Several Teamraiser Reports claim to provide data on the number of new donors to an event. But when I run them, there is never a column showing new donors.

I am also trying to see if I can deterimine how many new partiicpants I have. So far, I see nothting like that at all. I guess I could compare registration reports for two years and dedupe the lists to show new participants, but I was hoping Convio would have offer something easier than that.

Any Suggestions?

  • The Participant Registration Report in the Team Raiser reports contains a column for Prior Participant.  It's also available in Report Writer in the Registration Settings.

They define that in the help file as

Prior ParticipantRegistration SettingsSetting that indicates whether the participant registered for this event the last time it occurred
  • did you ever find an answer. the reply I saw did not address your issue. I have tried to find new donors to no avail, along wit the amount of self-donation a participant makes. This data is promised in the description of the report, but I cannot find it either!

    Hi David,

So the problem with TR reports is you have two completely separate metric types: donations raised and participants. Unfortunately there's simply not a way to include all of this info in a single report. I've been working on building a TR reporting template like our EOY one and found it's simply impossible to get all the data for all donations and for all participants in a single report. Hopefully my info in the other post helped with the self-donor part. As for "new donors" if I remember correctly you can run a Donation by Transaction report to see a column that says if someone is a "first-time donor".

    Hope this helps!

Yes, you response about using Report Writer and Gift Summary by Participant enabled me to answer one important question: the amount of additional gifts registrants make when they register. We can, as you suggest, use a transaction report to narrow in on new Teamraiser donors, but I am looking forward to any new EOY-type reports you may develop.

I've actually been working with the lead for the Go! TeamRaiser program on a reporting template and we're hoping our findings will help engineering to build a "one and all" report for TR. Keep your fingers crossed!
