Summary
Reporting to the AVP for University Advancement, the Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving is responsible for the University’s overall alumni and annual fund outreach efforts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Identify and cultivate relationships with alumni for the purposes of closer engagement with SXU including, but not limited to, philanthropic leadership, mentorship of students, volunteer participation, event planning and participation, and campus partnership initiatives.
Serve as the liaison with the Alumni Council.
Develop and lead a comprehensive annual fundraising appeal program with an annual goal, including strategies to incorporate alumni groups, e-campaigns, direct mail, giving societies, organizations, focus on new donors, and moves management for increasing average gift amounts.
Develops measurable and applied metrics for success, maintaining an on-going evaluation and reporting system for annual giving and alumni activities.
Collaborates with other areas of University Advancement and across the university to strengthen alumni relations in affinity areas such as athletics, academic departments, etc.
Work with University Relations on all direct mail and printed materials
Nurture the growth of the SXU alumni network through the use of technology and social engagement.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Experience:
A minimum of two to five years related professional experience (including fundraising, working with volunteers and/or alumni).
Highly proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft Suite.
Prefer experience in higher education.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Ability to coordinate efforts with on and off campus groups.
Demonstrates diplomatic, professional, and courteous interpersonal skills; displays discretion in dealing with sensitive, confidential issues.
Ability to effectively multi-task and work with multiple deadlines.
Description of Hours: 8:30-4:30 with some nights and weekends as well as travel.
Start Date: ASAP
