Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the Associate Director will play a key role in BC High’s historic comprehensive campaign by building strong relationships and inspiring new levels of philanthropic support in partnership with an extraordinarily passionate and committed community of alumni, families, and friends. BC High’s campaign will fuel an ambitious new strategic plan that will transform teaching and learning in a uniquely Jesuit context, increase access and opportunity for students, and create a campus that enables cura personalis or care for the whole person. The Associate Director will identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a donor portfolio primarily of current and past parents, and work to build a culture of philanthropy amongst current families. The Associate Director will focus on leadership annual and major gifts to maximize impact on BC High’s Ignatian mission and bold vision for the future of education.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Model Advancement team values of collaboration, teamwork, professionalism, and mutual respect to build a culture of trust within a high performing team.
  • Qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a robust portfolio of parents with leadership and/or major gift capacity, setting and meeting gift objectives for each prospect under management.
  • Achieve annual fundraising goals as established with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement including donor retention, in-person and virtual visits, solicitations, and dollars raised.
  • Manage BC High’s Parent Giving Committee to build strong relationships with leaders and donors in the parent community, give volunteers meaningful opportunities to contribute, and increase parent participation in the campaign.
  • Collaborate closely with Annual Giving team to involve Parent Giving Committee in annual gift solicitations and largescale giving days.
  • Develop strategies for meaningful cultivation and solicitation of donors, collaborating with the Parent Giving Committee, school and volunteer leadership, faculty, and colleagues as appropriate.
  • In collaboration with VPIA and Advancement colleagues, identify and engage new leadership and major gift prospects within the parent community to expand donor pipeline.
  • Create written proposals or other materials as appropriate that meet donor and School objectives.
  • Engage with the BC High community to stay current on key happenings and the School’s strategic direction.
  • Represent Advancement as needed at local, regional, and national Advancement events as well as institutional events; represent BC High at community events, as needed.
  • Travel and weekend/evening work as required; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of professional front-line fundraising experience with demonstrated success in meeting fundraising targets and securing leadership annual and major gifts.
  • Strong track record of building and developing relationships with constituents.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and demonstrated commitment to the profession.
  • Exceptional writing, communication, interpersonal skills, and a sense of humor are essential.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, digital communication tools, and databases is required, proficiency in Raiser’s Edge fundraising software is preferred.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively across internal and external constituencies; coordinate multiple projects with high attention to organization and detail; and ability to travel and work outside of regular business hours, when necessary.
