Position Summary

The Prospect Research & Database Manager supports fundraising and alumni engagement activities at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside by ensuring that campus leaders have strategic constituent information. This position is responsible for the management of the Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge database and other Advancement data tools including staff training, prospect and donor data-entry, database maintenance, and reporting. The Prospect Research & Database Manager supports fundraising efforts of the university and the UW-Parkside Foundation through identification, tracking, research, and reporting of potential donors.

The Prospect Research & Database Manager partners with units across campus, works closely with university leadership, and is a key member of the University Advancement team. University Advancement leads UW-Parkside’s development, alumni relations, communications, and marketing efforts.  

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains records and updates databases to ensure accurate information availability
  • Prepares lists and reports using data in Raiser’s Edge and other sources
  • Prepares briefing documents and profiles on corporations, foundations, and/or individuals to support prospective donor research
  • Utilizes prospect research techniques to prequalify identified prospect pools
  • Locates, reviews, and interprets historical information, legal and public records searches, press releases, real estate records, private company data, liquidity events, philanthropic interests, and other documentation to assess viability and potential capacity of prospects
  • May lead or train other staff performing prospect research, supporting activities, or utilizing data
  • Participate in Advancement and university meetings, events, and trainings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 1-3 years of experience using Raiser’s Edge or another customer relationship management (CRM) system.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in higher education or a nonprofit organization, and will have demonstrated success as a prospect researcher or database administrator. They will be highly focused on customer service, attention to detail, and learning new technologies.


Full Time Pay Range: $47,000 – $55,000 annualized, commensurate with experience
