Summary:

The Applications Programmer works with other members of the Creative Services Team to develop features, functions, and integrations that complement online fundraising systems such as Blackbaud’s Luminate Online, as well as providing technical and program support to Event 360 staff utilizing those systems and related web applications. This position will draw upon varied technical skills and concepts in the performance of their duties. Duties may include setting up new fundraising instances, building and modifying webpages, assisting with email campaign execution, developing and troubleshooting website and application behavior, and creation or update of related SOPs and documentation. This position may work in conjunction with other internal groups to develop and implement features or solutions in support of fundraising initiatives. A balance of technical skills and interpersonal skills will be required.

This position reports directly to the Director, Creative Services and is classified as exempt. This position is home-office based.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Two+ years’ experience with Content Management System (CMS) or CRM-related responsibilities, specifically Blackbaud’s Luminate Online and Blackbaud’s Luminate Online API.
  • Aptitude with HTML/HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/JavaScript Frameworks.
  • Ability to work and solve problems in an online environment.
  • Excellent analysis, presentation, documentation, and quality assurance skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint Online.
  • Ability to project manage own work as well as assigned tasks and associated co-workers with those projects.
  • Able to work in team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to train and educate end-users.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple projects under tight deadlines, work independently and manage own schedule.
  • Comfortable working in a virtual environment.
  • Willingness to travel outside of geographic area, as needed, for training, meetings, and on-event staffing roles.
  • An understanding of database structures preferred.
  • Experience with PHP and WordPress preferred.
  • Experience with non-profit organizations preferred.

Responsibilities (included, but not limited to):

  • Design and testing of program logic.
  • Coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and implementing features based on project specifications.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance and support to internal users of features developed.
  • Monitor production programs for expected performance and respond to errors.
  • Write technical documentation to support user guides, FAQs, and standard operating procedure documents.
  • Assist in study and analysis of data processing functions, methods, and procedures, and make recommendations on feasibility of potential improvements.
  • Maintain source code library.
  • Special projects in deployment of CRM and CMS solutions.
  • Liaise with vendors and clients in support of Event 360 projects.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

  • The employee works a standard 40-hour week, but may work longer hours, based on client and business needs.
  • When on event, employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions.
  • Work may require 3% travel.
