Facebook Domain Verification

Options
Facebook Ads is a major source of fundraising for us. Their recent update (as many of you are aware) requires you to verify your domain.

Is anyone else running into this problem? And how do I go about verifying my domain even though its hosted via convio.net?

Please help!

  • I understand the Facebook part. I am confused about how we are supposed the Confirm domain ownership part of those instructions. How do we do that when our donation pages are hosted by convio.net ?
  • My take is that you can't do this without a custom secure domain.

    Hi Brandon -

Brian is right. You need a custom secure domain to complete Facebook's domain verification steps. If you have a secure domain, the steps below will satisfy Facebook's requirement. If you need help to locate this section in your Business Manager, just let me know and I'll list it here, but Facebook should have provided you a link that opens up to this section of the Business Manager automatically.

    1. In the HTML File Upload tab, download your unique file provided by Facebook.

    2. Add the HTML file to your subdomain in the base directory of the site by logging into the FTP and adding the file.

    3. Confirm the file by clicking the link in step 3 in the HTML File Upload tab.

    4. Click Verify

If you need any assistance with these steps, please reach out to Blackbaud Support.

    Thanks,

    Colleen
