Letter Help please

I have multiple letters that won't generate when I try to merge the letters. The letters will generate from the gift record and are options for me to pick when I am doing a batch. These are letters for in kind gifts. I have the letter template and the mailing fields but they won't generate. I have talked with 3 Raisers Edge support members and no one knows why this is happening!!

Are you doing a straight merge or a conditional letter merge? 


If by chance it's conditional, are those records marked for consolidated receipts?  I've run into problems with that as conditional merge cannot determine what to consolidate even when there isn't anything to consolidate and no letter is generated.


I'm assuming support walked you thru things like gift date, address checked for send mail, etc.

It is a conditional mail merge. I was not walked through address checked for send mail or consolidated receipts. The only thing we talked about was uploading the template when I click edit merge document and then the mailing section and what to include in that.

And make sure the letters are not already marked as Acknowledged.  You may need to go back to the gift records and mark them as Not Acknowledged in order to get them to pull into the merge.

When I've had these types of issues, it usually is something small.  Checking the acknowledgement status is always one of the first things to look for.  Also, I have had issues where my merge didn't include the letter type I was trying to print.  I'd check out the merge as well. I'm sure it's probably something small that you're overlooking.
