Running Reports by Fund Category

Options
Looking for a report or building one so that I can see the Fund Category and total gifts for a specific period (last fiscal year, by month)


Ideally the columns could be:

Fund Category

Total Gifts Last Fiscal Year

Total Gifts Last Month

Total Gifts This Fiscal Year


Thanks for any insight. I asked support and weren't very helpful.

  • If you are looking for a canned report I'm not sure of one but honestly I do not use canned reports often as I've rarely gotten accurate results from them and thus do not have a lot of confidence in the canned reports


    What I would do is an Constituent Export with Summary of Gift Columns, then you can total up each column


    For example, I'd create a constituent query where gift fund category = whatever you are looking for 


    Then attach that query to a constituent export with probably the following in the output:


    Con ID

    Name

    Summary of Gift

    Criteria:

    1. General Tab put date range you are looking for

    2. Filters - attach a query for the Fund Category (or you could select individual Funds but then you would need to remember to update the Filter as you add funds so I'd recommend attaching a query for fund category)

    3. Gift Types - do you want all cash gifts, or is it any gifts with that fund category


    Include as many other Summary of Gift columns with different date ranges as you specify below, keeping the criteria of 2/3 the same as above


    The export will have rows for each constituent but then all you have to do is sum the columns and you will have the data you want.
