Tracking ticket purchases in CRM

Hello,


We are about to start loading ticket purchasers information into CRM from our performing arts centers and major sports teams.  We are weighing the pros and cons of using the Events area in CRM to track this activity as opposed to creating a custom set of tables and screens.


Our goal is to create a long term storage location for concert attendance and sports game attendance and use that information for solicitation criteria and affinity formulas.  (We are NOT trying to manage these events out of CRM, just load attendance AFTER the event.)


Is anyone already doing anything like this in CRM?
