Add additional filter options to custom Insights report builder

We just turned on the free 30 trial and I was in the Insights report builder tool trying to build some reports that I've created in Excel. I noticed that the tool doesn't include filter options for Gift Attribute or Fund Attribute. Are there future plans to add more filter fields to the tool? We wanted to build a report that shows giving from OnlineExpress but that isn't possible without Gift Attribute. Also, our funds have Fund attributes to show which School the funds support but without Fund Attribute, I can't report on giving by school.

I have the same problem. There was nothing mentioned during the last NXT roadmap webinar. Can anyone from Blackbaud please provide some information about this or an update?

I am trying to match my database gift detail and summary report to the NXT Custom Report Builder and do not see a way to include pledge balance. In order to calculate fund total, I look at cash gifts and pledge balances to get my total. This seems like something the new report builder should be able to do? Maybe I am missing a step?

I'd like to see gift dates, first gift dates, last gift date.  I've selected what I thought was a gift date, but I think it might be the date the constituent record was actually added to RE, but I'm not sure.  


My totals don't match using that field either, so I'm not sure.  I just wish that I could filter the gift dates, gift types, gift sub-types, count gifts, use gift amount ranges, etc.

From what I understand, yes, Blackbaud is working on including attributes/custom fields in the Insight Designer (and many other areas)... They've had a couple surveys go out about what people would like to see done first.... I don't remember seeing specific release dates or roadmap plans, but I know they were actively looking into them a few months ago.


I think I created something which show you pledge balance, but it's not perfect.  Here's what I did:

• I created a new Table insight.
• I dragged Pledge Installment Balance into the Measures area and chose Sum (probably automatic).
• I click Add attribute filter and chose Gift Type.  I chose Pledge, Planned Gift and Matching Gift Pledge.
• You might now see a total of all your open pledges.
• To get further detail I dragged Constituent ID and Constituent Name into the Rows area.

I'll put a quick screenshot below.  I blurred out my data, but you should get the idea.  The problem is that I can't seem to filter on only "open" pledges or pledges with a balance, so I see ALL my pledges (even all the $0 pledges).  You can sort by the Sum of Pledge Installment column to see the pledges with the largest balances at the top.




Does that help?  Or at least get you started?

I ended up playing some more with the solicitor credit insight and broke out pledges and cash (no pay-cash) into separate reports. It's not ideal (like the canned RE report can be for this) but it will do the trick for now. Images attached in case they can help anyone else-
