AVS fail on transactions from Europe and Asia

We have AVS turned on for our account after a card running incident a few years ago. I'd noticed an uptick in European / Asian transactions that fail AVS. I asked support about it and was told "most European, Asian, and Middle Eastern banks don't provide AVS checks for their accounts", so the system returns an AVS fail in those cases.

Is anyone else having this issue? Anybody have a creative solution?

No creative solution and becoming more and more of an issue. Support tells you to switch it to light vs medium in your BBMS settings. We have a DIY fundraiser that is hoping to get European donations so we turned it to light for the month of Sept. We are testing that to see if it helps and if we notice anything different.

Support told me most European banks don't provide AVS checks at all so there is no response for AVS to compare the user entered address info to. Based on that I'd think you'd have to turn the AVS level to None rather than Light to see any difference. Did they tell you something else Karen?

Pretty sure they told us a few times to switch to Light. I should know in a few more weeks if those international donations actually came in.
