A huge thank you to those who attended our Success Session: Online Giving in Online Express this afternoon! There were some great questions today and I wanted to share the answers: 

Can you add custom fields to your form? 

Yes! To gather any additional information on your form, you'll create a Gift Attribute in The Raiser's Edge. You can then add the Gift Attribute to your form on the Extras Tab. Here is some additional information on creating attributes: We're considering integrating Double the Donation into our new OLX donation page to facilitate matching gifts. They apparently provide additional code to drop in. Do you have any experience with how easy that is to do and how well that particular program integrates with OLX?

The JavaScript Code provided by Online Express provides a link between the form and your Raiser's Edge database. Blackbaud does not support any customizations to the code in order to preserve the integrity of that integration. This means, if you do add any code like this to the Online Express JavaScript and it causes an issue, our Support Team would recommend removing the integration as the solution. 

If we currently use NetCommunity, what is the best way to transition to Online Express? Also, how are we notified about donations that come in through these forms? Is it simlar to NetCommunity?

The main difference between NetCommunity and Online Express is that NetCommunity provides a hosted secure webpage, so when your donor clicks "Donate Now," they'd be routed to a separate page created by NetCommunity. Online Express provides code that you embded within your own website, so you'll need to partner with the website master at your organization to ensure that you have a secure page created on your website where that form will live. On the Thank Yous Tab, you can also specify which staff members receive email notifications when a new donation is received through a specific form. Otherwise, you'll see you have new transactions to download on your Donations Dashboard. The process is very similiar to NetCommunity and we have some information on it here: Downloading Donation Transactions in Online Express

Can you use a mobile device to scan your card into this form?

You can use your mobile device to scan your credit card onto an Online Express form. Most smart phones will recongize the credit card field and will prompt to allow you to scan your card into the phone using your camera. Here's an example from an Online Express form:

Do Online Express forms accept ApplePay?

Currently Online Express forms do not accept ApplePay. As we move online forms into Raiser's Edge NXT Web View, we'll be adding additional features and capabilities including the ability to use ApplePay. While it's not possible now, it will be in the future!

    We added a group email into the "Receive email notifications for new donations", but it has been inconsistant in us receiving an email for every donation.  We have received 3 notifications for donations but have had 6 or more seperate donations that we didn't receive notifications for.  Why is that?  We want to receive a notification everytime their is a donation.  Could you please help us figure out why we are not receiving a notification for every donation from Online Express?
