Any way to back out an import of contact records?

We are in deployment and recently loaded what I thought was a 'sample' file of records. I was always under impression that we had the ability to 'refresh' the contacts up until our website is live. I imported thousandsof records without email addresses thinking I'd be able to remove them. Now I am told that they are there for good and I have to use the duplicate maintenance feature and/or other approaches to removing them. How do we get rid of these contacts without getting them flagged as never being able to be added again? Help!

  • You may want to check with your deployment project manager but usually one of the last steps of the go live process just before turing payment processing live is a clear data script. This is limited to being run only once and once the site is live it can not be run again.

    I realize that its been quite awhile since you put in this case and you are likely already live but I wanted to give you an answer so if other have the question they will see the answer.
