How to include a statement on eReceipt....

Options
We are looking at turning on the eReceipt feature on our Online Express donation forms. I have a couple questions:

1. I have seen examples of the .pdf that is created for the donor. However, I do not see the standard statement that is required for No goods or services were provided by the organization in return for this gift.    Is there a way to included this statement?  If not, How are you taking care of this?

2.  Can any one tell me if the Receipt # is added on the gift record next to where the gift is maked as Receipted?  Or is the Receipt # only added as a gift Attribute?

Thank you for you help.

    Teresa,

By trial and error I found that:

    1. the eReceipt can not be changed for OLX forms.  I had to add the 'no goods or services' statement onto the email acknowledgement that is sent to the donor for the gift that includes the eReceipt Link.  We have also decided to go ahead and send a year end statement to all donors.  We only include tax deductible gifts on our year end statements, so when I do those I save them as .docx and then add the statement in the footer.  I got really tired of donors asking if we had one page statement that included everything so they didn't have to give their accountants 2 letters.

    2.  When downloading the gifts into batch, I have to make sure to include the column with the eReceipt number and link in the batch. When i do this it does pull the link onto the gift record under gift attributes, and it does add the Receipt # on the Gift General (first) tab.

I wish we could tweak the eReceipt, but for now this will work

Thank you for the reminder to update my question :)

  • Thank you for your thorough reply!
  • Oddly enough, we have the problem in reverse for the Online Express registration form: the verbiage "No goods or services..." appears, but we want to replace it with something more general. Really aggravating.
