Single Item Auctions

We are planning on hosting a one item per month auction, to help with fundraising and hopefully to drive more interest to our web site. Do any of the Convio tools support this type of fundraising? Does anyone have a suggestion of how to best go about this? We really do not need the full services of an online auction house.

Unfortunately, Convio doesn't have an easy "out-of-the-box" solution for doing this in your eCRM tools. I could dream up some ways of making it happen, but it would be complicated and hard to manage.

I've had clients use www.cMarket.com - a Convio partner. They're exclusively non-profit focused and can help you reach a broader audience with your auction. The clients I've worked with have liked their tools, but had modest success.

If cMarket isn't the right fit, I would seriously consider www.eBayGivingWorks.com. Now, I've never had a client use GivingWorks, but eBay is the leader in online auctions and this is an eBay initiative dedicated specifically to letting people auction goods to support your cause. It's a bit more de-centralized in its a approach than cMarket. Where you run the auction in cMarket, supporters can auction their items for you in GivingWorks (once you're certified for the program).
