Organization Record with multiple divisions

Hello,

Wondering the best way to track gifts from an Organization with multiple divisions.  Do you create one record and enter the multiple divisons with different addresses under the Address Tab?  Then just note on the gift reference line which division made the donation?  Or do you create a separate record for each division, add them as a relationship, and soft credit the gift to the main record?  I'm concerned with reporting and our Development Officers being able to see the whole picture.
