Error message received when trying to export a Gift Batch Grid to Excel

Has anyone else had this problem recently using RE NXT:  When I try to export the gift batch grid to Excel, this is the message that pops up "Error Opening Export: External table not in expected format".  I am able to export in csv format only.

I don't use NXT but this started happened to us several months back - had to do with a Microsoft update


Only can export gift batch grids - or anything you used to do right mouse click to export - in CSV format

The work around is to use Export Gift Grid... (not 'to Excel') and be sure you choose the version of Excel that is installed on your computer. Then you can open the file after it's exported.

Just to pile on - we're not on NXT, but we're hosted and have been having this problem for at least the last 2-3 weeks (maybe a bit longer). I'm glad to see it's not just us!

We're self-hosted, not RE-NXT but had this issue for about 3-4 weeks with RE and FE after a Microsoft update. Issue was resolved overt a month ago and we can return to Excel exports. Hopefully they will get issue resolved quickly with NXT.

Did Blackbaud resolve the issue or was it a Microsoft fix?

It was seemingly fixed in a later Microsoft update. IT guy also thinks it was Microsoft as we made no changes to RE or FE.

KB article 113894 explains it is a Microsoft issue but you have already figured out their work around.
