AutoResponder emails not matching Donation Reports

In this particular situation it seems Person B logged into Person A's membership on our website and then purchased of Membership as a gift for Person A.

And while both Person A and Person B's information is shown on the AR email, clearly showing Person B bought Person A a membership, only Person A's info is being pulled by Donation reports into the Donor and Honor Gift fields showing that Person A bought themself a membership.

Does anyone know why this might happen?

We have also recently changed our forms (approx 2 weeks ago) and this is the first and only occurrence we have found. It may be possible that is having some sort of effect.

Current sections on the AR email are:

Transaction date

Gift Information: Level & Amount

Billing Information

Who is the Membership For
