Donor Giving Analysis (Acquisition, Retention, Recapture) in RE

Howdy all. I think it was BBCON 2016 that someone facilitated a session on using RE Query to calculate acquisition, retention, and recapture rates year-over-year. She then contrasted this with the then new acquistion, retention, recapture dashboards in RE NXT Analyze. Does anyone have the presentation from that session or know the woman from Blackbaud that presented the session? I would be forever grateful for any leads. Thank you in advance! Have a GREAT day.

Hi Ed and Joshua - I'm often trying to figure out how to track retention or acquisition of donors. Is the ability you're talking about only found in RE NXT, or in good old RE7?

Hi Gracie! I was looking for a process for RE7, howerver, RE NXT has awesome acquisition, retention, and recapture dashboards.

Please see the attached word documents for Retention and New Donor Retention. You can add additonal criteria to the Queries in RE 7 (or db view) if you want to calculate metrics for a specific fund(s) or appeal(s).  Hope this helps!

Hey Everyone - I know this is an old topic, but I'm looking to see if anyone has some information to pull "Recaptured" data from the database view. Can the directions here be modified to do that easily? We can't quite get what we need on the webview, with it's inability to filter gift types as we need. I need to rebuild the categories from the "Donor Life Cycle" in the database view. thanks! Tracy
