Where is the URL for a New Personal Fundraising Campaign

Options

I am creating a new page on our web site that will allow constitutents to find existing campaigns as well as create new campaigns. Where is the URL displayed so I can link it? Also, how can I create a 'Find Campaign' link once we have many active campaigns.

Using this module exclusively for third party fundraising initiatives, which I understand is its strength.

  • One other question - should we create sample funds for our fundraisers or let them create funds themselves?

  • Hi Norman,

The Personal Fundraising Campaign's 'Greeting' page has the links to 'Find a fund' & 'Create a fund' by default. So, you have a few options:

    1. You can link to the Campaign's greeting page from the WYSIWYG editor by adding your 'click here' type text or button and then highlight it and click the "Links" dropdown in the WYSIWYG toolbar (right-hand side) > select "Personal Fundraising Campaign" > select "Options" in the popup window next to the campaign > Ensure "Greeting Page" is selected, add any interest categories or other configuration settings for the link > "Insert Link"

    2. You can link to the Campaign's search screen by following the above steps but selecting "Search Page"

    3. You can link to the Campaign's create a fund screen by selecting "Create a Fund"

A handy feature in there is to auto-log in constituents that are already members of your site.

    Hope this answers your question.

This is a great question and I will give it the ole 'it depends' answer.

I have had clients that created all of the initial champion fund pages (including uploading their address books) for their top supporters and this helped launch the campaign.

I think the demographic of your constituents will make a difference. If you have an older constituency, you may want to help get the ball rolling for them by creating funds for them and then handing over the funds to them once configured.

Mark, thanks for you quick response. Do you have many clients that are successfully using the Personal Fundraising module? We have many constituents that ask us frequently how they can raise money for us, and this seems like a great way to have them be able to create new campaigns whenever they want to.

    Hi Norman,

The viral nature of Personal Fundraising (previously known as Tributes) is a great way to have your constituents do the fundraising for your organization. Cathexis Partners has a client that has had Tributes up and running for just over 15 months and they have raised nearly $250k by setting it up once and letting it run. We have just engaged in a contract with them to do analytics of the programs results, offer some consultative recommendations around best practices, and provide technical assistance in taking their program to the next level. Both I and the client are confident that the investment of reviewing and relauching the campaign will more than pay for itself with increased fundraising and increased constituency. We also have a few other clients that recently, or are currently deploying, Personal Fundraising, so I can't speak to their overall success yet, but I feel confident that Personal Fundraising will provide a great return on investment.

Feel free to call if you want to discuss this further offline.
