Sponsorship Prospects

Options
I am trying to find a way to utilize RE to track sponsorship prospects for events.  I'm not sure if we have the prospect module.  I am trying to find a way to do this without creating a new record.  Not sure if this can even be done.  Any suggestions?

  • First, open any constituent record. Is there a tab labeled "Prospect?" It should be all the way to the right, or just to the left of the Event tab if you have the Events module. The tab's existance or non-existance will tell you if you have the prospect module.

Next, are you trying to find a way of identifying potential sponsorship prospects in your database, or are you just looking for a way to label an already identified prospect as such? If it's the former, I'm not sure there's a good universal way to look for prospects since corporate sponsor prospects are typically local businesses that you have a relationship with or share something in common with. If it's the latter, you could create a Prospect Status (on the General section of the Prospect tab, if you have it), or create a constituent attribute, or maybe create a custom constituent code. I think those are the typial ways you'd go about doing this, but really there are lots of ways you could manage to flag a record.

If you have the Prospect module it will show on every Constit record when you open it -- it would be a Tab across the top.  Either way -- if you want to track them, as in who they are, the contact person, who is building relationship (solicitor), who is asking, which event and so on, they do need to have a record.  They may already have a record -- look at your Org records.  Track them all in Actions
  • Hi Suesan-

If you don't have the prospect module (I don't) I would suggest creating an attribute. If you have multiple events, it could be an attribute of "Event Sponsor Prospect" with an associated table of descriptions - each description identifying a different event. A simple query would then pull all of your potential sponsors for various events.

    Good luck!
