Linking Planned Gifts

Options
Hi, I'm new to RE and trying to get all past realized planned gifts linked to appropriate gifts.  RE will not allow me to link any pay-cash type gifts nor soft credit gifts to planned gifts records, so realized $ are not accurate in reporting.  Can anyone give advice or a workaround for these issues?

??? if gift type is "pay-cash" the gift is already being link/applied to a pledge. Is it?  Don't believe you can apply gift to two things. (Don't have planned giving module so not sure what it adds for functions.)

My experience with Planned Gifts is that RE does not treat these gifts in most giving totals. So even if you link the gift to the planned gift there is no pay-cash.  When running analytic reports in NXT on Campaign - NXT is including realized planned gifts in addition to the cash received on the planned gifts –  remove Campaign from the Cash Gift when you select to include Planned Gifts in reports.  RE assumes you don't consider Planned Giving in your totals until they are realized.  If you want to 'count' planned gifts in analytical reports you select this in the definition of revenue types - Committed in Analyze Fundraising.  The tricky part with this is when the actual gift exceeds or is different than the planned gift.  You need to go back and adjust the planned gift so it equals the cash or enter the overage as a straight Gift - cash and include the campaign ID.
