Add new constituent during SC entry

Is it possible to add a new constituent record while in the Soft Credit window? There are many instances where I want to sc someone not yet in our database. What I do now is exit the sc window, exit the batch, go to Records and create a new constituent record, go back to batch and sc and do the entry. Seems like a lot of steps. There must be an easier way. And I know where to go to find it . . .  My Community!!

    Don't believe it's possible to add while in the batch soft crediting function screens. Two options that come to mind are just to leave batch and create as you describe or go in after committing the batch, add record and then go back to the gift and SC.  More steps than what you are doing.

    I've run across this situation a few times, and what I tend to do is open the donor's record first to see if the person is listed as a relationship (which they probably should be if you're soft crediting them for the gift). If they aren't, I add them as a new relationship and, if they don't already have a record in the database, select "Add this individual as a Constituent" from the Relationship menu.
