Why did I get a "Rebuild Error" when trying to send an email?

When you set an email up to send, you can choose the option to rebuild on send. This functionality almost always works just fine and is used by most of our clients most of the time. What the "rebuild on send" does is it takes the groups that are rebuildable (i.e. they are groups created by a Task or Query) and re-runs the task or query to re-populate the group with the most up to date data.



Every now and again the rebuild fails. When that happens you will get a "Rebuild Error". This happens because some association between the query and the group has failed. Sometimes it is because the query is using sub queries and the sub query failed instead. Regardless, the solution is to rebuild the groups in your audiences manually.



You do not need to do this preemptively.  The "Rebuild Error" is fairly unusual.  However, if you do see the "Rebuild Error", you need only to go into the groups that makeup the audience and rebuild them manually.
