Batch Files

Options
Is there any way to protect the information contained in a batch file so that another user in the company cannot accidentally delete or change the information contained in the file before it is committed?  Thank you.

Ummm, deleting batches sounds like a staff training issue to me.  Don't know why other users would be deleting batches but I suppose it happens.

On the batch set up window there is  check box for allow 'other users may access this batch'.  Don't know if it applies to uncommitted batches, it could.  Don't have anyone else available to test it right now.

Otherwise, not aware of anyway to prevent deleting or changing info.
  • Thank you!  Can you direct me the tab?  I don't see it, unless my version doesn't have the option to not allow others to access the batch.  I am experiencing staff members that are self-training start to play around and get interested in what is out there and may want to "practice".  I've learned the hard way to protect my queries due to this issue.

For me (we haven't updated - running 7.93, non-hosted) it's the bottom option on the gift batch setup window, Tab 1/Headers.  Below description box there are 3 checkboxes.
