Use of the new "primary" phone number

We're getting ready to upgrade to RE 7.95 and trying to figure out how we will use the new feature of marking a phone as "primary".  From a business process standpoint how are folks using it?  


And a question about export- please correct me if I'm wrong (seeing as we haven't upgraded yet!), but it doesn't appear that only the "primary" phone number can be exported; only the "flag" to idicate what phone is primary. Am I understanding this correctly.

You can export primary phone numbers in 7.95, but you have to use a filter and sort.


You would do that by ordering your exported phone types by the "Is Primary" field in Descending order.  Those primary phone numbers are marked as "TRUE" and that's alphabetically after "FALSE"... so you order them in descending order.


The phone type doesn't actually matter.  Here's what our export looks like:

We're having some issues using queries in 7.95 to grab exactly the people we want based on phone types.  Hoping Blackbaud builds some more robust options into the new phone types in the future...
