I need some advice about the best place to load grant requests in Raiser's Edge.  As a constituent or an appeal?

We record grant requests as a proposals under the constituent in the Prospect module. If you don't have that module, I would suggest using actions.

I don't know why you would use a constituent record unless you are talking about the Funder.  A Grant is NOT an entity or a person.


I would say either Campaign or Appeal would be your best bet.  We have Campaign=Solicited and Appeal=Grant for these types of gifts, as an example.


And yes, record proposals under Actions, unless you have RE:Search (also known as Prospect)...

Just to clarify, I was addressing grant propects, which are funders.
