Year End Export

Options
I need to create a list of constituents that have given a SUM of donations/ Total amount of gifts in the last 3 years, broken down below.

$0 Constituents in the last 3 years

$1 to <$1,000 Constituents in the last 3 years

>$1,000 to <$10,000 Constituents in the last 3 years

>$10,000 Constituents in the last 3 years

When I export my query for these, it does not give me the segmented totals or lists with these specific segmented $ totals.

Trying to see how may people overall we are sending a year end appeal to.

Thank you!

Not sure what you mean by "export my query".  Are you using export option in query or the Export function?

As it looks like you'd be including all records.  I'd just go to Export function.  Use "All records"  There I'd set an output of Summary information > Gifts > Total Gift Amount - set date range for last 3 years, and select gift types (don't double count pledges and payments).  Quick and easy to export to excel and then sort or filter gift $ total field.  Easy enough to look and see how many fall into each range.

You could do separate queries for each level, but this is easiest to me,.

Would you use a "Constituent" Export or a "Gift" Export?

Constituent - because you want a list of constituents.  Not a list of each and every gift.  (Summary info not available with gift queries/exports) :)

I get an error message when I try to pull the Constituent Export that there are too many lines and it stops generating the list.

Then you will need to do a constituent query using summary gift info for ech of your $ ranges.  Create one query then reopen it, save with new name for $ range, change $ range criteria and run it.  You'll just have to create 4 queries.
