Prospect Assignments

We have a group of prospects that we do not want to assign to an individual solicitor but want them available for any officer to visit if they are in their area.  Any ideas on how to assign these?  Anybody else have this issue?

We use Prospect Status on the Prospect module for this.

We use Unassigned for those we are choosing to leave without a PM assignment for now, but may reconsider this at somepoint.


Other possibilities are:


Assigned  means they are assigned to someone


Disqualified means they should never be assigned to a gift officer (possible reasons are health of donor, disinclination to give to us, or they have made a gift and that's their only major gift)


To be assigned - in need of an assignment, but it has not been determined to which gift officer

If you do not use the Prospect Module (as we don't), but these donors will need regular cultivating, you can always use an Attribute. Attribute Category: "Donor Prospect", Description being a Table entry defining Region, such as "Baltimore Region". (This Attribute could lie either on the constituent record or the Address record.) Then you could set up a query with an "Ask" qualifier based on the Attribute description that solicitors can run whenever they are about to travel abroad, to see which prospects may lie in their visiting area. To make them show up on your Solicitor reports, for progress tracking and Dashboards, you can then create a Dummy Solicitor called "Any Solicitor" and assign the prospect to them.

We assign them to our prospect researcher and code them as "Identification".

We had a group of those at a couple of Orgs I have worked at.  The solution was to have a Constit Record called Development Staff and assign that record as the Solicitor.  Worked great.
