I am a relatively new addition to our RE/FE/LO team and I am on the DBA side of things. We have literally hundreds of queries and exports, many abandoned by their creators. Is there any way, other than opening each one individually and writing notes, to find out:

Which queries exist entirely stand alone, no related export?

Which exports are used by our many Crystal Reports?

Which queries or exports use specific criteria?

Documentation on our end is extremely sparse. I know that many of the queries are orphans or leftovers and clean up would be so helpful.

Two things come to mind that might help you out -

If you click on a query, without opening it, look down at the bottom of your screen.  It will show you there if it's used in a reprt, export, or anywhere else in the system.

Also, instead of creating notes, if you end up having to get more detailed into this project, print the query control report, and then make any additional notes that you might need.  Or, save the control report off in PDF version if you don't want to actually print it.  Once your query is open, go to the File Menu, and click Print Preview to view it, and do whatever you need, or you can directly print it.

    Good luck with your cleanup!
