Assigned Appeals

Options

If you send out a solicitation and assign it as an appeal on the recipients records, what do you do if you then send out a follow-up, reminder or re-ask to those who didn’t respond to the first solicitation.

Do you create another appeal or add it as a new package to the first appeal?

What works best?

Thanks

Alan

  • For us, it sort of depends on the Appeal.  Typically I'll set up a separate appeal and include notes on both Appeal Records that they are related.  The letters we're processing this morning will be getting an email follow up, so that will get it's own Appeal from Online Express.  I've also done mailings (we track all mailings, not just solicitations, on the Appeals Tab) where a follow up was needed and went to the entire list again, in which case, I just noted that a follow up was sent in the notes on the original Appeal Record.  And once or twice we've done a small mailing that had some follow up pieces sent, and I just manually added a Comment to the Appeal row on the appropriate Constituent Records...and, of course, a note on the Appeal Record that indicates what to look for on the Constituent Records.

So most often, a separate Appeal is what we'd do.
