Matching gift payment not showing as soft credit

We don't get a lot of matching gifts--just one or two regulars. Typically when I enter the match gift pledge it shows up in both the donor's record and the match gift company's record. Then when the payment comes in, it shows as a pledge payment (hard credit) in the match gift company's record, and a soft credit in the donor's record. This week I processed a match gift payment and it showed up as a hard credit in both records. This payment was atypical in that it covered 3 match gift pledges from 3 donors (one regular donor and 2 one-time donors), so it processed as a split gift, but that shouldn't cause it to show up as a hard credit in the original donors' records. Thoughts?

    Trying to explain without seeing your gift record is hard.  When you say it shows as a HC do you mean it doesn't have "SC" at the end of payment type?  For us, our MG are not SC and on the individuals gift tab it lists as MG pledge or MG Pay-Cash.  You can put in SC on the matching gift - but basically it will just double list it.  Does that gift show as what you are calling HC for all 3 donors?   Having it split between people should not affect it. Is the MG pledge record SC'ed to the donors?  Then it will show as Cash-Pay - SC if that's how you have it set up to display your gifts.
