Primary Phone Numbers on Individual to Organization relationship Records

I am trying to prepare our database for migrating from 7.93 to 7.95.  I would like advice from users who have already made the switch on how they use the ability to edit relationship phone numbers for individual relationships (who are also constituents) to an organization.  I understand that the phone numbers on the source constituent record will not be editable from the relationship record.  However, I can add relationship specific phone numbers to the relationship record.  Do you track any phone numbers on the relationship record only? If so, how do you manage the relationship's primary number when it could be in conflict with the individual's constituent record?  How do you export on this since you can't really mark one of these relationship only phone numbers as Primary?  If you don't track phone numbers on the individual relationship record and everything is tracked on their constituent record, how do you manage an individual's preference when their phone number preference when communicating to them as a contact for an organization may differ from their preference when communicating to them as an individual donor?
