Exporting latest amendment for recurring gifts

Hi all,


I'm using export to a simple mail merge to export letters for constituents who have amended their recurring gifts.  The problem I'm facing is even when using queries to limit the data selection to amendments in a certain date range, the first amendment is pulled into the letter not the latest.  How do I get the latest amendment to come through?
