TeamRaiser First, Second etc. Follow Ups?

Options
I have been searching in the community, but finding a lot of things that are just talking about follow ups in general -- not the specific Follow Up autoresponders for Teamraiser.

Anyway, I'm just trying to figure out what those are for? I'm guessing they are just meant as reminders that the participant is actually signed up in the Teamraiser, and then offers some option for actions to take.

Does that sound about right?

  • Hi JD -

At AVON 39, we use the follow up emails as a fundraising program to get people to our fundraising minimum ($1,800) in 60 days - Fast Track Fundraising.

I'm not really a strategy person, but that's how we have it set up on the backend.

    Happy coding,

  • Hi J.D.,

The TeamRaiser follow up emails are a great way to connect
with your participants at a specific times following their
individual registration.  So at 3 days from their registration
you can remind them to update their personal page using
conditionals.  At 7 days you can congratulate on the number of
donations they've received or gently remind them to email their
friends and family with the suggested messages you provided in
their participant center.  The thing to remember with auto
responder follow up emails, is that the earlier the participant
registers for the event the earlier they will begin the cycle, so
you don't want to have date specific information in the follow up
email unless you are updating them on a regular basis.

I'm happy to provide more insight or strategy around follow up
    emails if you'd like.

    Best,

    Laura

  • You can also use conditionals with days-till the event, to change the content when it gets too close to the event or passes some other threshold date.

I'm already working on stealing this idea. Very nice.

You could even go further. When you choose one of the options, the site presents you with a bunch of sample email and facebook posts to use. If the participant was logged in (likely) most of these placeholders could show actual data using S-Tags. And the sample emails could also offer a Mail-To link link this:  Send this solicitation!

You could even have conditionals in the clickable link, if you are clever. Check this page to make that link: http://clickable-email.ezkode.com/

In that same vein, those facebook sample posts could easily also be clickable using the APIs. Facebook, Twitter and Linked In work pretty well. (Click a link and a pop-up opens where the user can preview, edit, adjust permissions and then post your suggested content.) You can check out how I'm doing that in our Social Media Ambassador page. http://www.luriechildrens.org/smap  There are a few posts you can make during the registration process, but its better on the tasks page - which you get access to after joining. That page has a grid of many posts to choose from - influenced more than a bit by the BB Champions program page.
