incomplete soft credit results in query

Options
I produced an output query from a LYBUNT report. I've run a query on that static query with the soft credits setting set to "both".  In my results I have one gift where the hard credit donor does not appear, and not all of the soft credit recipients appear in the query results i.e., 2 soft credit recipients appear in the results, the other 4 do not (don't ask, my orgn is soft credit addicted).  I have checked everything and cannot determine what is going on.  The hard credit donor is a foundation.  I have other hard credit foundations in the results and the soft credits for those records appear correctly in the query.  I've looked at each record and the soft credit appears in the constituent's gifts tab.  Any ideas why some soft credits on the same gift would be missing (not to mention that the hard credit is missing as well)?

    Madeleine,

One spot for the HC one to check is gift date - was missing gift on report once because gift date was one day outside of dates used in creating query.

What other criteria do you have?  Constituent code? Any sorting on gift type? Gift constituency?

    Just a possibility anyway.
  • It cannot be the date because two other individuals that were soft credited on that same gift appear in the results.  I used a query to run the report and the criteria for the query were records containing a certain attribute.  It is a fairly small result set (about 150 records).  I've gone over everything and cannot find anything in those records that would cause them to be excluded from the results.
  • For the hard credited foundation: Are they truly a LYBUNT? Are they in the output query? Same with the soft credits. If they gave this year they would not be in the LYBUNT report so they wouldn't be in the output query.
  • In similar cases, where one constituent as an errant result, I sometimes run the export on the errant constituent only. Does it work to isolate the constituent and run them through the process?  Also, there was a helpful discussion about "gift exports" a while back in the discussion entiltedHOw to Export or Report on Soft Credits

    .For what its worth...
