Stop Soft Credits for Spouses

Currently, we are soft-crediting spouses automatically for each and every gift. This seems to be the RE default. I would like to stop the madness as it trips me up on reporting.

I am not able to find an option to globally stop soft-credits.

I don't think it is reasonable to go into each constituent record and uncheck this...how do I achieve this?

You must have Supervisor rights to access the Business Rules in Config. From there, it is under Gift Options - General Options - "Default soft credits to..." Select "Donor".


We don't use spouse soft credits either. Same reason. Have heard so many people discuss the reporting problems that develop, seems better not to mess with it.
