Mass update country (not county)

Hello, my organization works internationally and we have a number of contacts with El Salvador addresses. We mistakenly wrote in El Salvador as the COUNTY instead of the COUNTRY for a number of personas, and I'm wondering if it's possible to use the mass update function to change the country. I don't see it as a field that can be changed in mass updates to personas. 


(Also, why can you only change primary personas or a specific persona type through a persona mass update, insteal of ALL personas at once?)


I see that I can, however, remove El Salvador from the county field using mass updates.


If it's not possible to change the country using mass updates, my next best idea is to somehow import the updated information and overwrite the existing information when I get the duplicates report. 


Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • I learned that, indeed, you can't use the mass update function to change the country value for existing accounts. 


    However, it was easy enough to change that information for many accounts at once by exporting key account info (last name, account name, sort name, account number, etc.), reimporting it using the Account Information import, and choosing to replace the existing account info with the imported info (all the same information except for the country). 


    This also eliminated the need to remove county values with a mass update, because county was not a field available under the new country.
