Setting up a recurring action

I want to set up an annual reminder for the gift processor to fulfill a gift-in-kind pledge once a year.  We have a multi-year contract with a vendor who is providing free parking for our patrons and the CEO wants it reflected in RE with the full value of the contract recorded as a pledge, and then once a year to process a gift-in-kind payment of the pledge.

I want to set up a post dated action with an e-mail reminder to go the day before each year.  I've set up the first post dated action; can I copy and past or duplicate that action?  Or set it up as a recurring event for 10 years?

  • We have these quite a bit, some are monthly, some are annual.  What I do is I create an action type Task/Other with the "due date"

    When I have completed said action, I add that particular action with "today's" date i.e. Annual Receipt sent ect.. and then update the date on the Task/Other action to the next due date.  This keeps the action tab a little cleaner and easier for me to manage instead of trying to add actions 10 years in advance.

    Recurring Actions

    Have an option to create recurring actions in Raiser's Edge like you can in Outlook. For instance, I have dozens of grant applications that are due on the same day every year. It would be nice to be able to set these as recurring actions (E.G. XXX Foundation due every August 1)so that I don't have to manually go through my actions and create a new action each year.
